I fall silent and feel shame for my conspecif cs. I reach for
her hand and sheepishly tell her, “Thank you, Sarah. I never
saw it this way before.”
She studies me calmly. Without saying anything, she deep-
ens the meaning of her words.
“Sarah, you’re doubting my morals. Sex is pure nature. Mor-
ality has no place in nature; nor does hypocrisy. We need reas-
onable rules to design sexual cohabitation. Society and the state
should not form part of sexuality. I developed a sexual code
that I will be teaching at the Sex Academy.”
“Is a visit to your brothel tax-deductible?” Sarah interrupts
my psycho, socio-political arguments.
“Good idea, I wasn’t aware you had such a knack for banal
f nancial matters.”
I need to be cautious, reign in my temperament and irony. I
need Sarah to perfect my concept for the Sex Academy. Her
experience is important for my business model, as it will aid me
in presenting a woman’s perspective correctly. Seeing as Sarah
knows a lot of homosexuals, I need her to build relationships
with them, so I can get to know their experiences and build
them into the concept of the Sex Academy.
I can’t limit the Sex Academy to heterosexuals. In doing so,
I would risk someone else opening an academy focused only on
gays and lesbians one day. I believe the only way to get Sarah
on my side, is by playing on her experiences as a psychotherap-
ist.
